Funding Distribution Process
Requirements
The Pennington Gap Scholarship offers five awards of $500 each to eligible high school seniors seeking financial assistance for post-secondary education. To apply, students must submit a 500-word essay on the topic, “What challenges have you overcome?” The application deadline is March 3, 2025, and recipients will be notified by May 5, 2025.

Applicants must be current high school seniors attending a public high school, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and plan to enroll full-time at a college, vocational, or accredited post-secondary institution in the fall following graduation. Each applicant should upload an unofficial transcript and their essay as part of the application.

Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s institution, unless other arrangements are made due to specific financial aid requirements.
